Shanghai walking tour of Xintiandi Area, Confucius Temple, Old Street and White

Take taxi to Xintiandi area to Start our walking tour.
Visit Xintiandi. It is where "yesterday meets tomorrow in Shanghai today." The mail building here is Shikumen buildings which is the architectural symbol of Shanghai in the 20th century. The internal spaces of the building have been designed to suit the up tempo lifestyle of the 21st century, with infinite details that exude the casual elegance of modern city living.

Then visit an Old House Setting Museum. The museum will show you the house setting, life style, living details of a family in 1930. Travelers will visit several rooms covers living room, reading room, elder's room, room of host, daughter's room, room of soon, as well as the kitchen room.

Visit Confucius Temple. Confucius Temple was built to worship Confucius, the China's great thinker and founder of the Confucian culture. It is the only ancient architectural complex combining temple and school in downtown Shanghai. With a history of more than 700 years, the temple is a splendid architecture elaborately designed with pagodas, small bridges, flowing water and lush greenery.

Walking on the Shanghai Old Street. Shanghai Old Street is an important part of the Yu Garden tourism area. The street is built in old-Shanghai style. Travellers may get a feeling of getting back to 1930's. Local stores and other small art shop that existed 100 years ago stand along the street.

Move on to visit White Cloud Temple. The temple is one of only two Taoist temples in China and the top first taoist temple in Shanghai. It was first constructed in Tang Dynasty and rebuilt in the Qing Dynasty. The most valurable collections are nine Ming Dynasty bronze statues of golden-plating.

Take taxi back to hotel after the tour.
