Festivals and Customs
·Hua’er Festival is held in July every year. The Hua’er Festival is celebrated across areas of Qinghai, Ningxia, and Gansu Provinces, particularly in Qinghai Province. In this province, celebrations of the Hua’er Festival continue from the fifth lunar month to the tenth lunar month. During the festival people from the surrounding villages dressed in holiday customs assemble on the mountain sing Hua’er to each other, expressing their love for life, and entertain and enjoy themselves. Many sing and dance performances will be held there.
·Yinchuan International Yellow River Culture Festival is held in October to November every year. During the festival tourists can appreciate the typical scenery of western China and rich Muslims culture, and watch the forceful Yellow River of a hundred miles. Typical folk cultural activities are held, such as large-scale ethnic singing and dancing performances, folk arts, acrobatics, Shaanxi Opera and other performances.

Haibao Pagoda: Haibao Pagoda is known as the North Pagoda by the locals. It is located about 1.5 kilometers northwest of downtown Yinchuan. It was listed among the 16 most famous ancient pagodas in China. Since ancient times, the temple has been the famous site in Yinchuan for an annual temple fair, which falls on the 15th of the seventh lunar month. 108 Pagodas: 108 Pagoda is located on the east slope of Xiakou Mountain on the west banks of the Yellow River in Qingtongxia City. It is said that the pagodas was built in Yuan Dynasty. Leaning back into the mountains close to the waterside, the pagodas are located on a precipitous slope sitting in the west and facing east. They were constructed following the curve of the mountains into 12 rows to form an equilateral triangle. Each row contains an odd number of pagodas starting from the top. All 108 pagodas were erected on an octagonal Sumeru base with a solid, overturned bowl shape.
