Jinshanling
Great Wall is 90 kilometers to the Mountain Resort of Chengde. Its east
end connects to the Simatai Great Wall with a total length of 10.5 kilometers.
It was initially built from 1368 to 1389 in the Ming Dynasty, and rebuilt
in 1567 or 1570.
Jinshanling Great Wall is second only to the Badaling Great Wall in its
completeness. There are 67 watchtowers in this section, and each of them
is in a unique style. The Watching Beijing Tower is on the highest position,
from which you can look into the distance of Beijing City.
Photographers recognize that the best place to take pictures of the Great
Wall is Jinshanling. It has not been completely renovated, parts of it
are in ruins, so it has a fully natural ambience. In addition, it is far
less crowded than Badaling or the Shanhaiguan Great Wall, so overseas
visitors prefer to choose it.
