Shandong Provincial Museum covers the natural and historical relics of
the whole province. In the natural collections, there are over 200 species
of specimens inclucing fossils of trilobite, the Taishan swallow, the
dinosaur, etc. Egg shell black pottery is the masterpiece among them.
the black pottery is as thin as egg shell, but it is especially shining
and exquisite.
The historical relics from the Dawenkou and Longshan Cultures including
bamboo writing slips, seals, stone sculptures and paintings from the Han
Dynasty, various bronze wares from Warring States (475-221 B.C.), Zhou
(1100-771 B.C.) and Han Dynasties (206 B.C.-220 A.D.), altogether 140,000
pieces, are exhibited here.
