First
Fire Tower of the Great Wall lies about seven kilometers south of Jiayuguan
City, Gansu Province. It is regarded as the world's first frustum, or
cut-off pyramid, which marks the western beginning of the Ming Great Wall.
First Fire Tower of the Great Wall was built in 1539 with a flat top and
its length, width, and height each 14 meters. Some parts have been destroyed
by water erosion over hundreds of years. The frustum standing quietly
aside the cliff witnesses the history.
