Overhanging
Great Wall lies 8km northwest from the Jiayuguan Fort in Gansu Province.
It was first built in 1539 as an extended part of the Jiayuguan Pass.
The wall has dwindled from its original length of 1.5 kilometers (0.93
miles) to its current 750 meters (2, 460 feet) due to destroy by frequent
battles. The existing wall was rebuilt in 1987 with sidesteps added to
allow visitors to climb the Wall.
The Great Wall likes a dragon winding its body on the ground with some
parts flat as plain, while others steep as a precipice. It appears to
hang over the cliff, so got its name. From the top of the Wall guests
may get a bird's eye view of the desert expending to the far horizons.
