Karakuri
Lake is located in the east of the Pamirs in Xinjiang with an elevation
of 3600 meters. It is the largest one among many lakes in the Pamirs with
an area of ten square kilometers.
Karakuri Lake looks blue and ebony because of the astonishing depths of
up to 30 meters. Lofty mountains surround the lake while the lake reflects
the snow-covered peaks, creating a landscape both on land and in water.
It is an ideal place for visitors during the summer months. The weather
is cold and the air is fresh, and the wooden houses and local yurts in
the service center are provided to the tourists who want to enjoy more
time here.
