Bosten
Lake is the largest inland freshwater lake in China which lies 57 kilometers
northeast of Korla. The lake composed by a big lake and many small lakes
connected with one another. It is a paradise for water birds including
egret, hern, red-billed gull and widgeon. In addition, the lake is one
of the four major reed production places in China. 400,000 tons of dry
reed is produced annually as the raw material for paper.
As one of the fishery bases in Xinjiang, there are 24 kinds of fishes
in the lake. Visitors can taste the delicious fish here.
