Tiemen Pass

Tiemen Pass, called Iron Gate Pass, lies 8 kilometers north of Korla at the mouth of a 14 kilometer long precipitous gorge. As one of the 26 famous passes, it had strategic importance and was the throat of the ancient Silk Road. Nearby there are two graves in which a couple were buried.
