Chongshan Temple: First built in the Tang Dynasty, Chongshan Temple was rebuilt in 1381 of the Ming dynasty. The temple include a bell tower, a main hall, main gate and small side rooms. The main hall, Dabei Hall, is the most complete and standard ever-preserved Ming wooden architecture. It houses three precious statues: the Samantabhadra (Bodhisattva of Truth), Kwan Yin (The Goddess of Mercy), and Manjusri (the Bodhisattva of Wisdom).
Confucius Temple: Confucius Temple was rebuilt in 1882 on the ruins of Chongshan Temple. It is built to honor Confucius, the great ancient Chinese philosopher and educator. Covering an area of the 13, 000 square meters, the temple comprises Three courtyards. The statue of the Confucius in the main hall is solemn.
Baiyun Temple: Baiyun Temple is a large Buddhist monastery in Taiyuan. It was first built in the Tang Dynasty(618-907) by Di Renjie, th famous prime minister for his mother. The temple is famous for its grand scale, unique layouts and elegant environment.
