Day 4. Lhasa to Gyantse to Shigatse (370km) visit or pass by Yamdrotso Lake, Gyantse Kumbum & Pelkor Monastery, overnight in Shigatse. (Breakfast, , )/ 拉萨至甘孜(行车370公里). 途经羊卓雍措湖, 白居寺, 宿日喀则.
Day 5. Tashilunpo Monastery, drive back to Lhasa (Breakfast, , ) / 日喀则 扎什伦布寺, 返回拉萨.
Day 6. Transfer to the border between China and Nepal. Service end. / 送机场或火车站, 行程结束。
Itinerary of 6 Days Tibet Group Tour of Lhasa Gyantse and Shigatse
Day 1. Arrival in Lhasa
Reach Lhasa by flight or train.
Be met by driver and vehicle of ChinaTravelKey.com in airport or train station. Check in Hotel.
Remainder of the days is at leisure. You can walk slowly near your hotel to get yourself to accommodate to the anoxic altiplano.

Day 2. Potola Palace, Jokhang Temple, Barkhor Street
Photo of Potala PalaceThen we will visit the Jokhang Temple - the holiest site in Tibet and is the ultimate pilgrimage destination for Tibetan Buddhists.
Move on to visit the thriving bazaar of the Barkhor Street - Tibetan culture, economy, religion and arts assemble and a place to which a visit must be paid.
Be transferred back to hotel. Welcome dinner will be arranged in this day.

Day 3. Drepung Monastery, Sera monasteries
Photo of Sera MonasteryVisit the Drepung Monastery - known as the most important monastery of Gelugpa in Tibetan Buddhism. Established in 1416, Drepung Monastery houses many cultural relics, which make it more superb.
Then we will visit the Sera Monastery - one of the three largest monasteries of Gelugpa. Completed in 1419, the collection of murals is maintained in perfect, original condition.
If we are very lucy,we may even come across Sera Monastery's Monks debiting which was held in the courtyard at around 3:00-5:30 in the afternoon.
Be transferred back to hotel.

Day 4. Lhasa - Gyantse - Shigatse (370km) (Breakfast, , )
Yamdrotso Lake, Gyantse Kumbum & Pelkor Monastery

We will drive from Lhasa to Gyantse. On the way, the vehicle will pass the Gampala pass (4790 m).
Gampala Pass is also called KampaLa Pass, which is the dividing line of front Tibet and rear Tibet, and also the only way to the Yamdrok Lake. The pass is 4,990 meters above sea level.
Like other famous passes in Tibet, there are huge Mani Stones here. The colored prayer flags flutter in the wind. The pass is the best place to overlook the Yamdrok Lake.
Travelers will have a glimpse of Yamdrok-tso Lake (4400m) . The Lake is surrounded by many snow-capped mountain and in the distance you have spectacular views of Holy Mount Nyenchen Khangsar (7191m), the highest mountain near Lhasa.
Move on to drive to Gyantse.
Visit the famous Pelkor Monastery and Gyantse Kumbum.
Pelkor Monastery is also called Baiju Monastery, which is located in Gyangze County of Shigatse, 230 kilometers from Lhasa, with 3,900 meters above sea level. It is a monastery combing three major sects of the Tibetan Buddhism, Sakya, Kadampa and Gelug sects. First built in 1427, the monastery is a typical Tibetan Buddhist building of combination of temple and stupa, which was once seen in monasteries from 13th to 15th century. The stupa in the monastery is called Myriad Buddhas Stupa. More than 100,000 Buddha statues are painted in the stupa.
Drive 1.5 hours to Shigatse, the second largest city of Tibet. Overnight at Shigatse.

Day 5. Shigatse(3900m) to Everest(5200m) via Tingriy
Be picked up from your hotel.
In the morning,tourists will visit Tashilunpo Monastery, the seat of Tibet's second highest incarnation, the Panchen Lama.
The monastery houses a giant statue of the Maitreya Buddha - the biggest gilded statue of Maitreya (Buddha of the future) in the world and a tomb of all the Panchen Lama, containing jewels and gold.
Drive back to Lhasa in the afternoon.

Hello Ben, thank you for contacting Chinatravelkey Team. Usually there will be 5 to 10 travelers. We will arrange a 19 seats mini-bus, but it is subjuct to change based on the number of travelers.
Please send us your scanned copy of passport and Chinese Visa when you make reservation. Then we will set up the tour for you.

Usually it is 1 to 3 USD /person/day to driver, 2 to 5 /person/day to tour guide. But the tips is completely depends on travelers as well as the service of guide and driver.
