Brief Itinerary of 15 Days Tibet Group Tour of Lhasa, Yamdrok Lake, Mt.Everest and Mt.Kailashi Pilgrimage
Day 1. Reach Lhasa. Be met and trasnfer to hotel.  Leisure time.  / 抵达拉萨.
Day 2. Potola Palace, Jokhang Temple, Barkhor Streets (Breakfast, Welcome Dinner )/ 布达拉宫,  大昭寺， 八角街.
Day 3. Drepung and Sera monasteries (Breakfast, , ) / 哲蚌寺, 色拉寺.

Detailed Itinerary of 15 Days Tibet Small Group Tour of Lhasa Mt.Kailashi Pilgrimage


Day 1. Arrival in Lhasa
Reach Lhasa by flight or train.
Be met by driver and vehicle of ChinaTravelKey.com in airport or train station. Check in Hotel.
Remainder of the days is at leisure. You can walk slowly near your hotel to get yourself to adapt to the high altitude.

Day 2. Potola Palace, Jokhang Temple, Barkhor Street
Be picked up from your hotel. Visit the Potala Palace. Originally built in the seventh century, Potala Palace is landmark of Lhasa. It is famous for its grand buildings, complicated constructions, devotional atmosphere and splendid artworks.

Then we will visit the Jokhang Temple - the holiest site in Tibet and is the ultimate pilgrimage destination for Tibetan Buddhists.

Move on to visit the thriving bazaar of the Barkhor Street - Tibetan culture, economy, religion and arts assemble and a place to which a visit must be paid.
Be transferred back to hotel.  Welcome dinner will be arranged in this day.

Day 3. Drepung Monastery, Sera monasteries
Be picked up from your hotel.
Visit the Drepung Monastery - known as the most important monastery of Gelugpa in Tibetan Buddhism. Established in 1416, Drepung Monastery houses many cultural relics, which make it more superb.

Then we will visit the Sera Monastery - one of the three largest monasteries of Gelugpa. Completed in 1419, the collection of murals is maintained in perfect, original condition.

If we are very lucy,we may even come across Sera Monastery's Monks debiting which was held in the courtyard at around 3:00-5:30 in the afternoon.

Be transferred back to hotel. Overnight in hotel, standard room.

Day 4.  Lhasa - Gyantse - Shigatse (370km)
Be picked up from your hotel on the morning.

We will drive from Lhasa to Gyantse. On the way, the vehicle will pass the Gampala pass (4790 m). 
Gampala Pass is also called KampaLa Pass, which is the dividing line of front Tibet and rear Tibet, and also the only way to the Yamdrok Lake. The pass is 4,990 meters above sea level.

Like other famous passes in Tibet, there are huge Mani Stones here. The colored prayer flags flutter in the wind. The pass is the best place to overlook the Yamdrok Lake.

Travelers will have a glimpse of Yamdrok-tso Lake (4400m) . The Lake is surrounded by many snow-capped mountain and in the distance you have spectacular views of Holy Mount Nyenchen Khangsar (7191m), the highest mountain near Lhasa.

Move on to drive to Gyantse. 
Visit the famous Pelkor Monastery and Gyantse Kumbum.
Pelkor Monastery is also called Baiju Monastery, which is located in Gyangze County of Shigatse, 230 kilometers from Lhasa, with 3,900 meters above sea level. It is a monastery combing three major sects of the Tibetan Buddhism, Sakya, Kadampa and Gelug sects. First built in 1427, the monastery is a typical Tibetan Buddhist building of combination of temple and stupa, which was once seen in monasteries from 13th to 15th century. The stupa in the monastery is called Myriad Buddhas Stupa. More than 100,000 Buddha statues are painted in the stupa.

Drive 1.5 hours to Shigatse, the second largest city of Tibet.

Day 5. Shigatse to Everest Base Camp (340 km)
Be picked up from your hotel.
Drive to Lhatse and enjoy your lunch. Visit Tashilunpo Monastery.
Then we will drive to Shegar.   It is possible to have a view of Mt. Everest in the distance if the weather permit.

Drive 4 to 6 hours to Rongpuk Monastery. On the way there, we will drive pass PangLa Pass, one of the highest passes in Tibet at 5050m. PangLa Pass is one of the best place to enjoy the view of the five highest peaks of the world.

Overnight at local hostel or big tent with humble facility.

Day 6. Everest Base Camp to Shigatse
The breakfast of today need to be prepared on travelers' own.
Enjoy the sunrise of Everest Peak from if weather permits.
Then we will drive to saga, you can have a view of the worlds’ 14th highest peak Mt.Shishapangma (8012m), and Turquoise Lake Peiku tso(4590m).
Drive back to Shigatse.

Day 7. Saga to Darchen, Lake Manasarover
Be picked up from your hotel and drive to Darchen. On the way there, we will appreciate the stunning view of the Saga valley between Gangdise Range and Himayala Range.
Beautiful grassland and local's villages make the riding interesting. It is possible to enjoy the spectacular vista of Mt. Naimonanyi(7694M) while we cross the Mayomla Pass(5112M).
Then we pass by the holy Lake Manasarover and arrive at the southern foot of Mt.Kailash, the most holy mountain in Tibet.

Day 8. Darchen-Drirapuk
Be picked up from your hotel on the morning. Take eco-bus from Darchen to Sarshung valley to start the first trekking day from Sarshung to Drirapuk Monastery along the Lachu valley and rivers.(around 13km). Travelers can hire Yaks and porters at Sarshung village. The cost of yaks, horses, and porters are not included in the package, travelers can pay cash on spot. Travelers can enjoy the west and north face of mountain Kailash today. Visit Drirapuk Monastery. Overnight in local dorm.

Day 9. Drirapuk-Dzutrpuk
Today, we will trek over Dromala pass(5630m), the highest pass of the Kora. It is possible to have a rest in a local teahouse.
Travelers can find locals Tibetans prostrating in the Kora path and beautiful Kadoe Lake when walk downhill.
Visit Zutulpuk Monastery. The total trekking length of today is around 18km.

Day 10. Dzutripuk-Darchen
We will trek 7km to Zongto on the third trekking day. Travelers may find piles of Mani Stones along the Kora. Trek will be ended at around noon. Then we will take bus to Darchen. Overnight in local hotel, standard room. ( Breakfast, , )

Day 11. Darchen to Saga
Be met from hotel. Drive from Darchen to Saga. Visit Lake Manasorova on the way.

Be met from hotel. Visit ancient Sakya town include Sakya monastery, which is famous for the amzing murals and huge collection of scriptures and statues. Then we will drive from Sakya to Shigatse.

Day 14. Shigatse - Lhasa
Be met from hotel. We will drive back to Lhasa along Yalong Valley. Take a view of vast Yalong River bed and visit Water Mill on the sightseeing platform on the way if time permits. Overnight in local economic hotel of Lhasa, standard room.
